10 Essential Items Every Cook Should Have in the Kitchen
Chef Hunter B. curated a list of 10 essential items he believes every cook should have in the kitchen!
CHEF’S KNIFE
8” or 9” German or Japanese chef knifes.
You only need three knives; chef’s, bread & paring. Chef’s does 90% of your work in the kitchen!
KITCHEN SHEARS
Great for breaking down poultry & herbs.
Make sure you purchase one that is dishwasher safe.
STAINLESS STEEL SKILLET
You can use this pan for almost everything, so be sure to get one of quality!
All-Clad will last a lifetime, but Multiclad by Cuisinart is a great option as well.
GRILL PAN
A grill pan makes beautiful grill marks on food without the mess of grilling.
We prefer using a nonstick because it’s much easier to clean.
LARGE STOCK PAN
Great for anything that needs to be slow cooked!
A heavy-bottom stock pan is best.
SPLATTER GUARD
When pan-frying, the splatter guard will prevent the oil from getting everywhere.
And it will protect you from burns!
DIGITAL, OVEN-SAFE THERMOMETER
Extremely useful for pork and poultry.
Cuts down on guesswork since all ovens heat differently!
IMMERSION BLENDER
Great for large-batch soups and sauces!
KITCHEN SCALE
Must-have for baking!
1 g increment is the best.
QUALITY BLENDER
Vitamix or Blendtec are the best! (Bonus: Vitamix comes with a 10-year warranty)
Great for making extra-smooth sauces. A quality blender is a must!

Happy Cooking!
